About The Position

Lead strategic programs and initiatives related to Hyper Local supplier recruitment, development, supplier utilization, partnership, and tracking to achieve specific company and project goals across multiple departments. Serve as a local connector between Turner, community institutions, and suppliers, creating mutually beneficial relationships that strengthen supplier engagement, and community impact.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or higher from accredited degree program and minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; recommended majors include, but not limited to Liberal Arts, Communication, Marketing, Sociology, Public Affairs, Social Outreach, or similar degree program
  • Passion for community-based programs with current or past volunteerism or other community experience
  • Program management expertise, conduct research, and able to develop and implement programs and processes
  • Industry knowledge (e.g. construction, workforce development, supplier diversity)
  • Influential relationship building skills, able to lead and influence others that are not direct reports
  • Display initiative, able to prioritize responsibilities of competing demands, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in non-structured environment, with minimal oversight, take direction without continuous follow-up, and work with multiple project teams
  • Effective professional verbal and written business communication skills
  • Understand continuous improvement methods and tools
  • Possess solid problem solving and analytical capabilities, familiar with basic lean culture and concepts
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft suite of applications, intermediate MS Excel skills, database applications, calendar program skills, and collaboration technology

Responsibilities

  • Understand sensitivity and uniqueness of projects, communities, and Underrepresented Business Enterprises (UBE) and Hyper Local Business utilization.
  • Lead UBE and Hyper Local engagement programs to achieve established project goals.
  • Build relationships with local, community, County and City organizations that support and promote UBE and Hyper Local businesses.
  • Implement outreach events to foster relationships with UBEs and Hyper Local firms in various capacities.
  • Develop and implement strategic programs and initiatives to achieve specific project goals for Hyper Local suppliers across multiple departments, including Procurement, Preconstruction, Self-Perform Operations (SPO), Community & Citizenship, Business Development (BD), Marketing, and Construction Operations.
  • Serve as Turner's local representative in the assigned region, building and sustaining strong, lasting relationships with community institutions, business leaders, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent Turner at local events, facility tours, community moments, and industry activities while strengthening relationships with community leaders, suppliers, customers, and partners.
  • Manage local partnership agreements and budgets and collaborate with Procurement and Community& Citizenship to ensure partnership work complements existing community efforts.
  • Track and report on the reach, engagement, and impact of local partnerships and programs and use findings to inform continuous improvement.
  • Track and maintain Hyper Local Supplier Participation report for project in partnership with Procurement.
  • Develop relationships with Hyper Local suppliers to serve as an advocate and trusted partner, openly discussing resources, upcoming projects, and additional ways to grow business.
  • Manage Hyper Local vendor directory.
  • Manage and track the pipeline of Hyper Local and UBE suppliers to assist in their desire to grow and connect them with relevant resources and opportunities.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
