About The Position

Responsible for managing daily operations of Laboratory, Phlebotomy and EKG services. Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSF and third-party requirements. Manages financial, capital, and human resources to ensure services meet established quality and productivity standards, and takes corrective action as necessary. Advances the department through process improvement activities while maintaining culture and focusing on strategic initiatives and departmental best practices.

Requirements

Associate degree in laboratory science, Biology, or Chemistry field and 1 year of work experience in a healthcare setting; or an associate degree in any field and 2 years of work experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or leadership role; or a high school diploma/GED with Phlebotomy Certification.
1 year of healthcare experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
American Society for Clinical Pathology Medical Laboratory Scientist or AMT Medical Technologist credential.
2 years of experience in a supervisor/leadership role, including coaching and mentoring competencies.
Experience leading to competency in project management, performance improvement, and quantitative analysis.
Ability to develop and sustain strong staff and interdepartmental relationships.
Phlebotomy Certification.
