About The Position

Domtar is a leader in the manufacturing of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue paper, and wood products. The Saint-Prime plant, located in Lac-Saint-Jean, has specialized in the manufacturing of I-joists for nearly 20 years, primarily used in the joists of residential and commercial wood-frame constructions. Over time, we have adapted our product to the market by offering it in a variety of lengths, widths, and materials to distinguish ourselves from the competition. We rely on a team of approximately 80 experienced professionals. We encourage individual effort as well as teamwork, mutual assistance, and health and safety at work. Our establishment is looking for qualified individuals to fill a Human Resources Supervisor position. This is a permanent, full-time position. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources. Any combination of relevant training and experience will be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in human resources management (labor relations experience is an asset).
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and control with rigor, continuity, and cohesion.
  • Proficiency in the Windows environment.
  • Recognized for your ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent command of written French.

  • Labor relations experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage labor relations and promote modern industrial management methods.
  • Contribute to maintaining harmonious labor relations with union representatives.
  • Act as a resource person for employees on all matters related to compensation, working conditions, etc.
  • Advise and support management staff in the administration and application of the collective agreement.
  • Organize, coordinate, and control recruitment activities.
  • Support the management team in their continuous improvement efforts, performance management, and adherence to values.
  • Plan the training needs of various employee categories and follow up on continuous training plans.
  • Coordinate and participate in the onboarding and integration of employees and follow up on the probationary period.
  • Assist managers in planning work schedules, monitoring attendance, and absenteeism at work.
