About The Position

The Superintendent oversees and serves as the point of contact for day-to-day jobsite operations, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. The role interfaces with design team members, subcontractors, site personnel, ownership, the project team, company employees, local authorities, and utility providers. The Superintendent manages on-site construction from mobilization through completion; coordinates subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel; and plans and tracks daily and weekly work to maintain the project schedule. The role monitors quality, productivity, and compliance, enforces safety requirements, resolves construction issues, and supports project documentation and closeout. The position regularly works at onsite construction settings and involves travel of 50–100%. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered, paid as $5,000 after six months and $5,000 after one year.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the commercial construction industry.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including night or daylight shifts and weekends.
Ability to perform or assist with general demolition, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, doors and hardware/glass, drywall, finishes, specialties, unloading items, and minor site cleanup.
Good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, and ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with computer applications needed to perform the role.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and other scheduling software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and professional communication skills.
High sense of urgency and ability to set priorities.
Team player with a positive, collaborative attitude.
Ability to travel 50–100%.
Ability to meet the described physical demands, including regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Big Box Retail experience is strongly preferred.
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare, plan, and supervise day-to-day construction activities in accordance with project specifications, documents, and schedule.
Manage all on-site construction activities from project mobilization through completion.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
Maintain the project schedule by planning daily and weekly activities and tracking progress.
Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor quality, productivity, and compliance.
Enforce OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements; conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and routine safety inspections.
Immediately address and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and industry standards, and proactively identify and resolve construction issues.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs as needed with the project manager.
Maintain an excellent, professional relationship with the client.
Serve as the primary on-site contact for subcontractors, inspectors, owners, architects, and other stakeholders.
Maintain daily job logs, progress reports, and project documentation.
Assist in developing and updating project schedules, reports, and meeting minutes.
Manage project closeout, gather required documents, and submit them according to client requirements.
Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and material staging.
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure jobsite.
Oversee site logistics, including traffic control, waste disposal, and temporary utilities.
Perform other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
