Summer Camp Sports Program - Golf
About The Position
The Utica City School District is seeking qualified candidates for Summer Sports Camps (Golf). This Youth Sports Summer Program features a variety of sports including Basketball, Football, Baseball, Softball, Swimming, Track & Field, Lacrosse, Tennis, Cheerleading, Wrestling, Golf, Cross Country, Soccer, and Volleyball. The program is designed to keep youth active and safe during the summer, supporting the district's mission to educate the whole child. It addresses challenges faced by urban communities, such as limited access to safe recreational outlets and a lack of structured programs. The program promotes health and fitness, offers a safe and structured summer alternative, builds critical life skills and character, encourages academic and career exploration, increases equity and opportunity, and strengthens community and family ties.
Requirements
- NYS Coaching Certification
- Interscholastic Coaching experience in the sport
- CPR/FA for coaches or responding to emergencies/AED
- Concussion Management Certification
- Fingerprint Clearance
Responsibilities
- Keep youth active and safe during the summer.
- Support the urban school district's broader mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
- Provide a structured, supervised, and safe environment during critical hours of the day.
- Instill essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, responsibility, perseverance, and resilience.
- Integrate academic components tied to sports.
- Encourage family engagement and foster pride in student achievement and school district programming.
- Provide opportunities for local partnerships with athletic organizations, colleges, and community centers.
