About The Position

The Subway Manager performs and directs overall restaurant management. The role directs staff to maintain food safety, product preparation, cleanliness, restaurant safety, and security standards, and oversees staff training. Exceptional customer service is a major component of the position. The manager oversees hiring, scheduling, employee development, inventory, product quality, merchandising, sales, expenses, and required records and paperwork while operating the restaurant within established hours. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Model good customer service and act as a positive role model for excellent customer service practices.
Train and empower employees to provide excellent customer service.
Resolve customer complaints in a courteous, businesslike, and timely manner.
Provide the DM or Store Manager with current and future hiring needs; use recruitment techniques and selection tools to hire for the store.
Ensure new employees are properly trained on all aspects of the restaurant.
Check food preparation and dining areas for cleanliness, and assist employees with greeting customers, taking orders, and food preparation.
Conduct regular meetings with the Store Manager and employees to enhance communication and teamwork.
Conduct regularly scheduled employee performance reviews and discussions.
Prepare work schedules and post them in advance; provide clear and consistent direction and expectations; establish written job assignments.
Ensure foodservice areas, equipment, and utensils meet company, Subway, and health-regulation cleanliness standards, and ensure equipment is maintained in good working order.
Ensure employees adhere to dress code, appearance, and health requirements; provide timely motivational feedback and coaching, and counsel and document employees as appropriate.
Monitor orders to ensure in-stock efficiency and review fresh-food forecasting to maximize sales while maintaining acceptable food cost.
Train and develop employees.
Review management reports and take appropriate action to ensure balanced inventories; verify deliveries for order accuracy.
Ensure product quality and freshness through proper rotation, ordering, and monitoring of codes and temperatures.
Ensure accurate and visible product pricing; merchandise products according to guidelines or layout; ensure products follow recipes and portion standards; and ensure proper and promotional signage is displayed on time.
Promote sales through suggestive selling and other approved means.
Provide appropriate personnel, including the Store Manager, District Manager, and Category Manager, with feedback on sales, food cost, and profit opportunities, and supply accurate competitive information to departments.
Ensure applicable state, local, company, and health guidelines are followed, including required records, and adhere to government regulations including ADA, Environmental, Wage and Hour, and EEO guidelines.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork is completed accurately and on time, including deli inventories, waste, and price changes.
Ensure employees follow inventory-control procedures and all safety and security procedures.
Control labor and manage food cost and other expenses within established guidelines; manage sales, profits, and expenses to budget.
Maintain the Subway Manual and ensure training materials are accurate.
Operate Subway within established hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
