Part-Time Substitute Teacher (Preschool/Daycare) - $16-$17/hr
About The Position
We’re hiring part-time daycare and preschool substitute teachers in Fond du Lac, WI, and surrounding areas including Campbellsport, North Fond du Lac, Ripon, and Rosendale. The role is in licensed child care centers with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 0–5, not K–12 classrooms. Teachers fill in when center staff are out and support children through play and early learning activities. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. This flexible, part-time role lets you choose the centers, days, and hours that work for you. Shifts typically range from 4 to 8 hours between 6 AM and 6 PM. Paid training and onboarding are provided, and the role offers experience across multiple early childhood programs. Pay is $16–$17 per hour, with bonuses and mileage reimbursement for eligible travel.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Coursework in early childhood education or child development.
Responsibilities
- Fill in for teachers in preschools and daycare centers when staff are out.
- Care for and support children ages 0–5 through play and early learning activities.
- Follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center.
- Help with activities such as arts and crafts, music, meals, and outdoor play.
- Partner with teachers and center staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
