The Part-Time Substitute Teacher works in licensed preschool and daycare centers in Appleton, Wisconsin, and surrounding areas including Kimberly, Neenah, Kaukauna, and Little Chute. The role supports infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children from birth to age five—not K-12 students. Substitute teachers fill in when center staff are absent, help children learn and play, follow the center’s routines and provided lesson plans, and work with teachers and staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. Paid training and onboarding are provided. This is flexible, part-time work. Substitute teachers choose the centers, days, and hours that work for them; shifts typically last four to eight hours between 6 AM and 6 PM. Pay is $16–$17 per hour, up to $136 per day, with bonuses of up to $300 in the first 90 days and additional hour-milestone payouts. Mileage reimbursement is available for eligible travel.
