Part-Time Substitute Teacher (Preschool/Daycare) - $16-$17/hr
About The Position
We’re hiring part-time substitute teachers for licensed daycare and preschool centers in Clintonville, Wisconsin, and surrounding areas including Marion, Shawano, New London, and Manawa. The role supports infants, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 0–5 in early childhood classrooms, not K–12 classrooms. Substitute teachers fill in when center staff are absent and support children through play and early learning activities. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. Paid training and onboarding are provided, and the position offers experience across multiple early childhood programs. Pay is $16–$17 per hour, up to $136 per day, with the opportunity to earn up to $300 in bonuses during the first 90 days, plus additional hour milestone payouts. A $100 bonus is paid after completing the first 8 hours in the first week. Eligible travel is reimbursed for mileage. Workers choose their shifts, centers, days, and hours. Shifts typically last 4–8 hours and fall between 6 AM and 6 PM.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Coursework in early childhood education or child development.
Responsibilities
- Fill in for teachers in preschools and daycare centers when staff are out.
- Care for and support children ages 0–5 through play and early learning activities.
- Follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center.
- Help with activities such as arts and crafts, music, meals, and outdoor play.
- Partner with teachers and center staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
