About The Position

Part-time substitute teaching work in licensed preschool and daycare centers in West Bend, Wisconsin, and nearby communities, supporting infants, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 0–5 rather than K–12 students. Substitute teachers fill in for center staff and help children participate in play and early learning activities. Shifts are flexible and typically last 4–8 hours, scheduled between 6 AM and 6 PM. Workers can choose centers, days, and hours. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. Paid training and onboarding are provided, and the role offers experience across multiple early childhood programs.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Coursework in early childhood education or child development.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers in preschools and daycare centers when staff are absent.
• Care for and support children ages 0–5 through play and early learning activities.
• Follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center.
• Help with activities such as arts and crafts, music, meals, and outdoor play.
• Partner with teachers and center staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
