About The Position

Part-time substitute teacher role serving licensed preschool and daycare centers in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and nearby areas including Neenah, Omro, and Winneconne. The role supports infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children ages 0–5, not K–12 students. Substitute teachers fill in when center staff are absent, care for children through play and early learning activities, and follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center. Shifts are flexible and typically last 4 to 8 hours between 6 AM and 6 PM. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. Paid training and onboarding are provided, with opportunities to gain experience across multiple early childhood programs.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Coursework in early childhood education or child development.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers in preschools and daycare centers when staff are out.
• Care for and support children ages 0–5 through play and early learning activities.
• Follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center.
• Help with activities such as arts and crafts, music, meals, and outdoor play.
• Partner with teachers and center staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
