About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers in Keller and the surrounding Fort Worth area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers cover assignments at K–12 schools, deliver or support lesson plans, and serve as positive role models who encourage students’ love of learning. Candidates can set their own schedules and work up to five days per week, choosing assignments that interest them. Assignments may also include lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring. Kokua offers support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and describes this role as a potential path to permanent positions at high-performing K–12 schools.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• At least 48 college credit hours completed.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed, including supervision, tutoring, and testing proctoring.
• Pass state and federal background checks; the costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
• Include relevant experience working with students on the resume to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Cover teaching assignments and support lesson plans at K–12 schools.
• Manage a classroom of students.
• Step in where needed, including lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
• Serve as a positive role model and help students recognize their potential.
