About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers for the 2026–27 school year in Duncanville and the surrounding Dallas area. Substitute teachers support K–12 schools by covering classroom assignments and serving as positive role models who encourage students’ learning. Teachers choose their own schedule and may work up to five days per week in assignments that interest them. Assignments may also include lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring. Pay is up to $142 per day, paid weekly via W-2. For applicants with an associate’s degree or at least 48 college credit hours, pay is $120 per day for daily assignments and $135 per day for long-term assignments. For applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher, pay is $126 per day for daily assignments and $142 per day for long-term assignments. Kokua offers a path to permanent roles at high-performing K–12 schools and daily support from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Applications are being accepted for the 2026–27 school year, and applicants can begin the interview process immediately.

Requirements

At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
At least 48 college credit hours completed.
Confidence managing a classroom of students.
Willingness to step in where needed for duties such as supervision, tutoring, and test proctoring.
Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
