About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers for the 2026–27 school year in Arlington and the surrounding Fort Worth area. Substitute teachers support K–12 schools by covering teaching assignments and serving as positive role models who help students engage with learning. Teachers set their own schedules and may work up to five days per week in assignments they are interested in. The role may also involve lunch or recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Daily positions pay $151 per day, and long-term positions pay $167 per day. Pay is issued weekly through W-2 employment. Kokua says applicants can receive an offer within one week of applying, and the role may provide a path to permanent positions at high-performing K–12 schools. The organization offers support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and reimburses background-check costs after 10 assignments.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• At least 48 completed college credit hours.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed, including supervision, tutoring, and proctoring duties.
• Pass state and federal background checks.
• Include relevant experience working with students on the resume.
