About The Position

Cadence Education is hiring a Richmond Regional Substitute Teacher to provide substitute coverage at preschool locations. The role creates a safe, engaging learning environment and supports children’s development by delivering the company’s curriculum in collaboration with other educators. Substitute teachers observe children’s interests, extend play through language, toys, and activities, encourage positive social skills, and help maintain a varied daily schedule that includes quiet time, active play, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine- and gross-motor experiences. The role also involves documenting children’s daily milestones and sharing them with parents. Positions requiring work at multiple locations may involve travel during the workday; eligible travel time and business mileage are compensated according to company policy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Meet all state preschool teacher assistant requirements.
• Be flexible and ready to work during business hours.

• Experience as a teacher assistant or in a licensed daycare.

Responsibilities

• Follow Cadence Education’s philosophy and collaborate with educators to deliver a fun, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Document and share children’s daily milestones with parents.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and leaders to create engaging experiences for children.
• Observe children’s interests, maintain their safety, and extend their play using language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage children’s social skills and positive behaviors.
• Help plan a varied daily schedule that includes quiet time, active play, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine- and gross-motor experiences.
