About The Position

Cadence Education is seeking an energetic and creative substitute preschool teacher to help create a safe, engaging learning environment for children. The role supports the school’s philosophy and curriculum, contributes to children’s development, and works collaboratively with educators and leaders. The position may require travel between multiple locations during the workday; eligible travel time and business mileage are compensated according to company policy. The job is located in Ashland, Virginia, at 9550 Kings Charter Dr.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet all state preschool teacher assistant requirements.
• Must be flexible and available to step in during business hours.

• Experience as a teacher assistant or in a licensed daycare.

Responsibilities

• Support Cadence Education’s philosophy and work with educators to deliver a fun, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Document and share children’s daily milestones with parents.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and leaders to create engaging learning experiences.
• Observe children’s interests, maintain their safety, and extend their play with language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage children’s social skills and positive behaviors.
• Help plan a varied daily schedule that includes quiet time, active play, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine- and gross-motor experiences.
