Part-Time Substitute Teacher (Preschool/Daycare) - $16-$17/hr
About The Position
Part-time substitute teacher role in licensed preschool and daycare centers in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and surrounding areas, including Grafton, Saukville, Mequon, and Thiensville. Work with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 0–5 rather than K–12 students. Choose the centers, days, and hours that fit your schedule; shifts typically last 4–8 hours between 6 AM and 6 PM. No teaching license, lesson planning, grading, or test administration is required. Paid training and onboarding are provided, and the role offers experience across multiple early childhood programs. Pay is $16–$17 per hour, up to $136 per day, with up to $300 in bonuses during the first 90 days, additional hour-milestone payouts, and mileage reimbursement for eligible travel. A $100 bonus is offered after completing the first 8 hours during the first week. Partial-day and after-school shifts count toward bonuses.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be authorized to work in the United States.
- Be able to pass a background check.
- Have reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- Coursework in early childhood education or child development.
Responsibilities
- Fill in for teachers in preschools and daycare centers when staff are absent.
- Care for and support children ages 0–5 through play and early learning activities.
- Follow classroom routines and lesson plans provided by the center.
- Assist with arts and crafts, music, meals, and outdoor play.
- Partner with teachers and center staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.
