About The Position
The Sub Welder supports construction of new substations and modifications and upgrades to existing substations for electrical utility companies throughout Florida. This is a traveling field role requiring work at different job sites across the state. Per diem is provided when applicable. The position maintains and repairs, modifies, replaces, and installs a wide variety of low- and high-voltage electrical and electronic equipment and systems at existing facilities, new acquisitions, and facilities under renovation. Equipment may be fixed or portable.
Requirements
- TIG welding experience.
Nice To Haves
- OSHA 10 certification.
- 6G welding certification.
Responsibilities
- Develop welding plans by analyzing print specifications and determining appropriate welding techniques.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following procedures and complying with safety standards.
- Construct components by cutting, cleaning, and welding with equipment after setting up and measuring assemblies and selecting an appropriate method.
- Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
- Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
