About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor for the DVM3108 Humanitarian Action course (3 units) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course covers the history and current challenges of humanitarian action, including the policies and practices of multilateral, bilateral, and non-governmental agencies. The course component is a lecture and requires students to have completed 54 university units, including DVM 2105 and DVM 2106. The course schedule is Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM and Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:50 PM. This course will be given in person.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. completed or in progress, or equivalent experience in the field of social sciences and International Development.
  • Submit a one-to-two page proposal on an important topic, outlining how they would teach this course (theme, content, literature, pedagogy).
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience is an asset.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities
