About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach NUT2103 Laboratory Techniques in Food Sciences (LAB) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course involves exposure to laboratory equipment and techniques common in the food industry, including basics of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and the principles behind various instruments used in food industry and academic research. The role includes implementing theoretical principles, preparing and restoring the laboratory, and providing instruction in person on campus.

Requirements

  • Master degree in Food Sciences or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of various standard laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Valid WHMIS-laboratory and Laboratory Biosafety certifications.
  • Experience in the field of the course.
  • Candidates who do not have the certifications can do them online before the start of the course.
  • If the degree is in an equivalent field, the candidate must clearly explain in their résumé how their academic background connects to Food Sciences.

  • University teaching experience is an asset.
