About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor position for the course DTI6300: Foundations of Immersive Virtual Reality during the 2026 Fall Semester. Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing immersive virtual reality applications using industry-standard tools such as Unity and C#.
  • Strong understanding of core VR concepts including immersion, presence, user interaction, locomotion, usability, comfort, and optimization for head-mounted displays (HMDs).
  • Experience developing interactive 2D/3D applications, serious games, simulations, or educational VR experiences.
  • Knowledge of cross-platform deployment and performance optimization for desktop and mobile immersive applications.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, debugging, system integration, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages relevant to immersive technologies, such as C#, Java, Python, C/C++, or JavaScript.
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or teaching assistant experience in programming, software engineering, computer systems, or related technical subjects.

  • Experience combining immersive technology development and higher-education instruction.
  • Experience developing VR applications focused on usability, engagement, education, or social impact.
