About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ENG1100 EC00, a Workshop in Essay Writing course, during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Main Campus. The course focuses on intensive practice in academic essay writing, emphasizing grammatical and well-reasoned expository writing, essay organization, research paper preparation, and proper acknowledgment of sources. Students will complete frequent written exercises and develop composition skills, with required use of Writing Centre resources outside of regular class hours. The course is scheduled for Mondays from 14:30 to 17:30 and is an ONLINE COURSE. Requirements

  • Ph.D (English)
  • Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Competence in second language: N/A
  • Employees are under provincial law required to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
