About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach Child Development (PSY2105, Section D00) during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Main Campus. The course will cover physical, cognitive, linguistic, emotional, and social development in childhood from various empirical and theoretical perspectives in psychology. The course is offered in person and is scheduled for Wednesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Fridays from 11:30 to 13:00. The expected enrollment is 147 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The instruction language is English.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Advanced knowledge of the course content area (Child Development)
  • Competence in a second language (Passive)
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Child Development course (PSY2105, Section D00).
  • Maintain the assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be canceled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any known absence.
