About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course ECO1504 D00, Introduction to Microeconomics, during the Fall 2026 semester. The course covers the nature and scope of economics, scarcity and choice, market mechanisms, supply and demand, elasticity, consumer behavior, firm behavior, production functions, cost curves, pricing, perfect competition, monopoly, price discrimination, government regulation, factor prices, case studies, and comparative advantage. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and has an expected enrollment of 244 students. The language of instruction is French.

Requirements

Master's degree in Economics.
Demonstrate recent professional experience as an economist in the area of the course in the public, para-public or private sectors. If not shown, the candidate will not be selected.

Responsibilities

Teach Introduction to Microeconomics (ECO1504 D00) during the Fall 2026 semester.
Cover topics including the nature and scope of economics, scarcity and choice, market mechanisms, supply and demand, elasticity, consumer behavior, firm behavior, production functions, cost curves, pricing, perfect competition, monopoly, price discrimination, government regulation, factor prices, case studies, and comparative advantage.
Deliver instruction in French.
Adhere to the current APTPUO collective agreements.
Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
