Seen Health•Los Angeles, CA
•$110,000 - $160,000•Onsite

About The Position

Seen Health is a culturally focused, technology-enabled healthcare organization delivering senior care through the PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. The Strategy & Operations team tackles the organization’s hardest problems and biggest opportunities, aligning care delivery, operations, and economics so Seen Health can provide sustainable, culturally competent, high-touch care. Current priorities include improving center operations and growing the participant population from 400 to 500, with future work spanning new centers, partner and acquisition integrations, and build-buy-partner decisions. This senior individual contributor role works directly with senior leaders across clinical, finance, health plan, growth, and technology. The role requires strong judgment about what drives outcomes for frail seniors, how care operations work in practice, and how to manage affordability. The person will develop and scale care-model workflows, build new capabilities, evaluate operating models, and create automations. They will also own selected operations between care delivery and the health plan, develop medical-economics visibility, lead complex integrations, and launch new centers, markets, service lines, partnerships, and acquisitions through stabilization and handoff.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of managed care operations experience spanning care delivery and health plan operations, ideally both.
  • 3–7 years of healthcare experience with deep expertise in at least one U.S. healthcare domain.
  • Expertise in at least one of care delivery, utilization or care management, risk adjustment, rate setting, health plan operations, or healthcare finance, with the ability to work credibly across the other areas.
  • Demonstrated ownership of clinical, financial, or operational outcomes, such as quality, avoidable utilization, cost per member per month, medical loss ratio, or enrollment growth.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Based in Los Angeles / San Gabriel Valley and able to work on-site with care teams regularly.
  • Ability to commute to Alhambra.

Nice To Haves

  • Startup or fast-paced environment experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and scale internal care-model workflows across teams and sites without requiring headcount to grow one-for-one.
  • Define, build, and test new capabilities in open areas of the care model, such as utilization management, clinical pathways, and the call center; assess their impact on outcomes and cost and determine whether to operate, hand off, or discontinue them.
  • Evaluate whether capabilities should be insourced, hybridized, or outsourced, balancing outcomes, cost, oversight, standardization, and local adaptation.
  • Build agents and automations for high-leverage workflows and establish standards for testing, monitoring, and return on investment.
  • Work with compliance on HIPAA-covered tools, business associate agreements, and human-in-the-loop review for clinical and regulatory decisions.
  • Take ownership of operations spanning care delivery and the health plan; make workflows lean, automated, and audit-ready, then run them until stable and hand them off.
  • Develop medical economics visibility, including medical loss ratio and participant- and cost-of-service-level profit and loss views, and establish review cadence.
  • Connect clinical and operational changes to per-member-per-month costs and capitation economics, and explain changes in the numbers.
  • Lead complex integrations so departments, partners, and entities operate as one system across new service lines, acquired practices, and partners.
  • Work with Growth and Business Development to pressure-test new centers, markets, service lines, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Own launch plans, resourcing, and operating readiness for committed initiatives through stabilization and handoff.
