About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Storeroom Supervisor at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. The role oversees and coordinates storeroom or stockroom activities, including inventory ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution. The position is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with days varying and rotating weekends required. The listed pay range is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour. The supervisor oversees associates who order, receive, put away, issue, or ship inventory; ensures supplies are adequate and stored to preserve quality; and promotes use of FIFO to minimize waste. The role also involves planning storeroom layout, advising management about unusable, slow-moving, or excess stock, resolving inventory-record discrepancies, assisting vendors with access and supervising them while areas are unsecured, and covering shifts for absent storeroom employees. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Prior inventory control experience is required.
Prior supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

Supervise associates who order, receive, and put away inventory.
Supervise associates who issue or ship materials.
Ensure stocks and supplies are adequate and stored in a manner that preserves their quality.
Ensure that the FIFO system is used to minimize waste.
Plan storeroom layout and design, considering stock turnover, size, and weight.
Communicate with management and make recommendations regarding non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
Resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records.
Assist vendors in gaining access to delivery areas and supervise them while the area is unsecured.
Cover shifts for storeroom employees who are on vacation, sick, or otherwise absent.
Perform other duties as assigned.
