About The Position

The Storeroom Attendant is responsible for receiving, storing, and taking inventory of departmental supplies and food, while maintaining sanitation in storage areas. The position is located at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. It is full-time, with varying days and hours and a requirement for open availability, including weekends. Previous storeroom coordination experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $17.40 per hour. Paid training and a uniform are provided.

Responsibilities

Inventory and maintain necessary food and other supplies to support efficient operation of the Food Service Department.
Store food and supplies in appropriate containers and designated areas according to department guidelines.
Maintain records and logs of storage temperatures for perishable food items.
Date, label, and rotate stock so the oldest products are used first.
Order food and supplies according to product specifications and company ordering protocols.
Secure designated areas containing potential theft risks, dangerous chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
Follow security procedures for storeroom organization.
Transport food and supplies in appropriate containers or vehicles to ensure they arrive safely and intact.
Follow HACCP guidelines when receiving and distributing food supplies.
Report equipment maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate resources.
Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports on time.
Identify and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer directions and MSDS sheets.
Use equipment according to department safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
