About The Position

The Store Support employee provides customer service at checkout and over the phone, assists with sales, returns, and other transactions, and helps keep the department organized and ready for customers. The role also supports other store areas, including order fulfillment and order pick-up, as business needs require.

Requirements

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and follow-through.
Problem-solving ability.
Proficiency with computers and interest in learning new computer applications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions while providing excellent customer service.
Listen to customer needs and help make service quick, easy, and enjoyable.
Keep the department runway ready by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
Stay informed about key fashion trends and products to help customers make purchase decisions.
Build customer relationships by sharing information about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Provide support in other store areas, including order fulfillment and order pick-up.
