About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Manager Trainee for the Belgrade Travel Plaza. The trainee works with the store manager and/or co-manager to learn the overall operation of the store and may serve as acting store manager when the store manager is absent and the co-manager is unavailable. The role includes customer service, store operations, employee supervision, sales and inventory controls, recordkeeping, ordering, maintenance, and asset security. The listed pay is $20.50 DOE.

Requirements

Motivated and outgoing.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Train with the store manager and/or co-manager in the overall operation of the store.
Learn to make supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
Understand controllable expenses, sales increases, inside gross margins, shortage controls, and promotional programs.
Set an exemplary example for co-workers in professionalism, attitude, teamwork, customer service, and convenience store operations.
Communicate with customers and resolve complaints and inquiries.
Serve as acting store manager during the store manager’s absence when the co-manager is unavailable.
Complete daily bookwork using a computer to record employee, inventory, and sales information.
Order supplies and merchandise; inventory and invoice merchandise; key in daily sales; and merchandise, receive, price, stock, display, and rotate inventory.
Complete store maintenance and basic repairs, make bank deposits, and perform light cleaning of the store and restrooms.
Hire, train, and orient new employees; discipline and/or terminate problem employees.
Maintain security of store assets and control cash, fuel, inventories, merchandise, and labor hours.
Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and complete other duties assigned by management.
