About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Assistant Manager to assist the store manager with daily store operations and supervisory responsibilities. The assistant manager helps maintain Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures; supports store presentation, inventory, pricing, safety, and administrative operations; and serves as acting store manager when the store manager is absent and other designated managers are unavailable. The role also supports employee scheduling, training, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in enforcing supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
• Help maintain product pricing, inventory, buildups, merchandise, store appearance and cleanliness, product dating, outdated merchandise, signage, promotions, invoicing, cigarette store maintenance, shelf tags, and vendor control.
• Serve as acting store manager during the store manager’s absence when the co-manager or manager in training is unavailable.
• Fill in for absent employees, especially on tills or in the deli.
• Assist with employee scheduling and completion of paperwork, including books and cashier duties.
• Advise the store manager of personnel situations or policy violations affecting store operations.
• Prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on assigned shift tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of cashier lanes, counters, shelves, and stocked areas, including dusting shelves and merchandise.
• Order products, identify and ensure accurate pricing, and maintain product inventory.
• Maintain displays, signage, cigarette store advertisements, merchandise, compliance contracts, and product dating.
• Conduct preventive store maintenance and basic repairs, promote store safety, and perform administrative tasks including bookkeeping, payroll, record and file maintenance, and daily bank deposits.
• Supervise staff training and scheduling, and assist with new employee training and orientation as directed by the manager.
• Greet and communicate with customers, provide exceptional customer service, and model professionalism, a positive attitude, teamwork, and customer service in convenience store operations.
