About The Position
Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Assistant Deli Manager to support the Deli Manager and/or Store Manager. The role assists with supervisory decisions and the planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up needed to manage expenses, increase sales, control food costs, and reduce shortages. The assistant manager helps make decisions for deli operations, develops department staff, and supports new employee training and orientation. The position also involves customer service and hands-on deli work, including preparing deli items, cooking heated items, ordering and maintaining merchandise, and upholding food preparation and sanitation standards. The Store Assistant Deli Manager prioritizes and delegates shift tasks, helps safeguard store assets and control inventory costs, maintains the store, and performs basic repairs to deli equipment. The role also assists clerks and managers as needed and performs other duties assigned by supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Deli Manager and/or Store Manager with supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up related to controllable expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
- Set a professional example for coworkers in attitude, teamwork, customer service, and store operations.
- Assist with management decisions for deli operations and with developing department staff.
- Support new employee training and orientation.
- Interact with the public and provide exceptional customer service.
- Prepare deli items and cook heated items.
- Order and maintain deli merchandise.
- Maintain high standards for food preparation and sanitation.
- Prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on shift tasks.
- Be responsible for the security of store assets and control of inventory costs.
- Maintain the store, including performing basic repairs to deli equipment.
- Assist clerks and managers as needed and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
