About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk for the Belgrade Travel Plaza. The Store Clerk provides customer service and handles cash transactions, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. The role includes operating store equipment, completing shift duties, supporting customers, and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas of the store.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle cash, accounting, and customer transactions.
Operate the computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including outdoor areas; sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
