About The Position

The Store Manager in Training (SMIT) is a development-focused role designed to prepare the employee for a CVS Store Manager position. The 16-week, self-paced and collaborative program includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Development is supported by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. The SMIT supports the store as a member of the management team and leads in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies. The position requires willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion and transfer to any CVS Pharmacy store within the designated market; selection for the SMIT role does not guarantee promotion. Promotion timing depends on factors including performance and available openings. The work schedule may vary based on business needs. The anticipated schedule is 45 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

A four-year college degree is preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

Participate actively with a leader in Key Learning Experiences during the structured development program.
Support the store as a member of the management team and lead consistently with CVS values and policies.
Engage colleagues in support of CVS's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
Communicate verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
