About The Position

The Store Cleaning/Janitorial Associate maintains a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, recovery, and floor-care standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms. The associate follows health and safety, operational, merchandising, signage, and loss-prevention policies and standards. They are cross-trained to support other store areas and front-end coverage, respond to changing business needs, and contribute to a positive customer and colleague experience. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1545 in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Starting pay is $13.00–$13.50 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care.
Operate the floor scrubber and buffer and perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
Maintain floor-care, organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Cross-train in other store areas, such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor, and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model customer-experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
