About The Position

The Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized TJ Maxx store, with a focus on floor care. Duties include operating the floor scrubber and buffer; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The role also supports store recovery, customer experience, safety, merchandising standards, and operational and loss-prevention policies. The associate is cross-trained in multiple store areas and helps cover Front End needs as business requires.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards and operate and maintain the scrubber and buffer.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning of glass and windows.
• Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train in other store areas, including Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer-experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
