About The Position

The Retail Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers and performing dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows. The cleaner maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms, and refills essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end. The position also supports store operations by cross-training in areas such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor; responding to front-end coverage needs; and participating in store recovery. The cleaner follows health and safety, merchandising, signage, operational, and loss-prevention standards, communicates effectively with management and associates, and contributes to a positive customer experience and store culture.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the floor scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Refill essential items in the associate lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Adhere to company health and safety policies and help maintain a safe environment.
Cross-train in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
Role-model customer-experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
