About The Position

The Early Morning Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized TJ Maxx store, with a focus on floor care. The role involves operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows, while maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The employee is cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs and provides coverage when needed. Availability must include weekends. The scheduling window is between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m.; shifts are expected to start between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. and end between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Holiday hours are to be determined. The position is located at TJ Maxx Store 1612 in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. Starting pay is $13.25 to $13.75 per hour, with actual pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care.
• Operate the scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Cross-train in other areas of the store, such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
