About The Position

At Wegmans, cashiers help ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. The role provides proactive customer service in traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes, leaving customers with a positive impression and encouraging loyalty. Shifts start as early as 6 a.m. The position is part-time and pays $17–$17.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact and smile, proactively offer assistance, and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments at the register.
Bag items so products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store.
Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area and direct customers to available lanes.
Ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
