Retail Store Cleaner -Early Morning
About The Position
The Retail Store Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized TJ Maxx store, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and performing routine cleaning throughout store areas. The associate follows operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss prevention standards; supports customer experience and store culture; and is cross-trained to assist in multiple areas based on business needs. The position is located at TJ Maxx Store 0180 in Westerly, Rhode Island, and has a starting pay range of $16.00 to $16.50 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements

- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities
- Operate the scrubber and buffer and maintain floor-care cleanliness standards.
- Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Work in other store areas as needed, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
- Support front-end coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink reduction.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
- Model established customer experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
