About The Position

The Store Cashier is a member of TravelCenters of America’s store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests. The store offers a wide selection of name-brand products, including grab-and-go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The role works in a customer-focused environment and helps ensure travelers are ready to return to the road. The position is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. The team member processes customer transactions at a point-of-sale register, maintains clean and stocked food, beverage, and merchandise areas, follows safety guidelines, and communicates with leaders and coworkers. The role may involve exposure to outdoor elements, noise, fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and substances such as dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer and POS knowledge preferred.
Cash-handling skills preferred.
A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Serve customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
Process customer transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) register.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked food and beverage area.
Clean and stock merchandise.
Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and coworkers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
