About The Position

The Store Asset Protection Associate supports shortage reduction, investigations, store security, and safety. The role works with the General Manager to promote adherence to company policies and procedures, monitors the employee entrance and relevant deliveries, performs physical security checks and safety inspections, and maintains a visible, professional presence while moving throughout the store and interacting with customers. This is a part-time, hourly position starting at $16.50.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail Loss Prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as retail business needs require.
• Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
• Regular time and attendance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure 8s and move throughout the store.
• Provide a courteous and professional visual presence at the entrance and exit.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
