About The Position

The Store Asset Protection associate helps reduce shortage and support investigations while ensuring employees follow Five Below policies and procedures. The role involves monitoring store security, maintaining the employee entrance and tracking certain deliveries, conducting physical security checks and safety inspections, and maintaining a visible, courteous presence with customers. This is an hourly, part-time position starting at $18.50.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
Basic understanding of retail or security.
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for retail business needs.
Ability to stand or walk the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
Regular time and attendance.
Ability to work independently.
Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
Conduct physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
Perform figure 8s in the store and remain in motion throughout the store.
Provide a visible presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interactions with customers.
Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
