About The Position

The Store Asset Protection associate helps reduce inventory shortages and support investigations while promoting store security and safety. The role works closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures, monitors the employee entrance and packages delivered there where applicable, and conducts physical security checks. The associate also maintains a visible presence at the store entrance and exit, interacts professionally with customers, performs safety inspections, communicates hazards to store management, and moves throughout the store to help prevent loss.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required by retail business needs.
• Ability to stand or walk on the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
• Regular time and attendance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure 8s and move throughout the store.
• Provide a courteous and professional visual presence at the entrance and exit.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
