About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate helps reduce shortages and supports investigations while promoting compliance with Five Below policies and procedures. The role works closely with the General Manager, monitors store security, and provides a visible, professional presence for customers. It also includes safety inspections, communicating hazards to store management, and maintaining the employee entrance and tracking certain deliveries where applicable. This is a part-time, hourly position with a stated pay range of $18.50 to $22.50 per hour; pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and location.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends according to retail business needs.
• Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
• Regular time and attendance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policies and procedures.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct physical security checks in the store and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure 8s in the store and remain in motion throughout the store.
• Provide a visible presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interaction with customers.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
