About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate is a highly visible store loss-prevention position focused on protecting company assets and providing attentive customer service. The role requires integrity, a positive attitude, and close attention to detail. The associate observes customer behavior, communicates potential theft concerns to managers, follows procedures for checking associates’ personal belongings, and responds to suspected shoplifting. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and requires standing for the entire shift.

Requirements

• Positive customer service skills when interacting with store personnel and customers.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all organizational levels, internally and externally.
• Attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask.
• Must stand for the entire shift; sitting is not permitted while observing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness on the sales floor and observe behavior or body language that may indicate possible theft.
• Communicate suspicious behavior to managers.
• Work with managers to ensure associates’ personal belongings are checked before they leave the store.
• Thank customers as they leave and invite them to return.
• Be prepared to stop and confront customers observed concealing merchandise.
• Provide police with detailed information about people who have stolen merchandise.
• Protect company assets and financial information by supporting accurate and effective internal controls and informing management or appropriate officials of potential fraud risks.
