About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate supports shortage reduction, investigations, store security, and safety operations. The associate works with the General Manager to promote compliance with company policies and procedures, maintains and monitors the employee entrance where applicable, tracks packages delivered through that entrance other than normal scheduled shipments, and performs physical security checks. The role also involves staying active throughout the store and making recommendations to help prevent loss.

The associate provides a visible presence at the entrance and exit, interacts with customers courteously and professionally, conducts safety inspections, communicates hazards to store management, and greets customers as a Five Below associate. This is a part-time, hourly position with a listed pay range of $18.50 to $22.50 per hour; pay may vary based on job-related factors. Benefits, bonuses, incentive payments, and other compensation may be available depending on the position offered.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required by retail business needs.
• Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
• Regular time and attendance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct store physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure 8s and remain in motion throughout the store.
• Maintain a courteous and professional visual presence at the entrance and exit.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
