About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate supports shortage reduction, investigations, store security, and safety operations. The role works with the General Manager to promote compliance with company policies and procedures, conducts physical security checks and safety inspections, and maintains a visible, courteous presence throughout the store. The associate may also oversee the employee entrance and track packages delivered there, excluding normal scheduled shipments.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for retail business needs.
• Ability to stand or walk on the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
• Regular time and attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policies and procedures.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct store physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure eights and move continuously throughout the store.
• Provide a visible presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interaction with customers.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
