About The Position

Waldorf Astoria Chicago is hiring a Steward to help keep its kitchen and dining areas clean and support memorable guest experiences. The hotel is in Chicago’s Gold Coast and has 215 rooms, more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and four food and beverage outlets. This is a Local 1 Union position requiring complete open availability. Schedule and hours depend on seniority and business needs, may vary from week to week, and may be minimal until seniority is established. Full-time hours are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Complete open availability is required; schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated.
• Comfort with hours and schedules that may vary from week to week and may be minimal at times.

Responsibilities

• Clean chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils; scrub pots and pans; and burnish silver.
• Monitor stock levels and keep supplies and equipment well stocked and organized.
• Perform kitchen cleaning tasks, including mopping and trash removal.
• Prepare and set up clean serviceware for banquets and functions.
• Train and mentor new stewards.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.
