About The Position

The Steward helps maintain the casino by sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and organizing food and hospitality areas. The role may also assist with banquet setup, including arranging tables and chairs and preparing for catering and food service. The Steward provides excellent service to internal and external guests and follows the GILA WAY: greet guests, interact positively, listen actively, and show appreciation. The role includes maintaining sanitation and food safety standards, cleaning equipment and service areas, removing trash, and keeping loading and receiving areas safe and clean. Other assigned duties and special projects may also be required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Acquire and maintain a valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens (BBP) certification, and other required compliance trainings.
Ability to perform the GILA WAY: greet guests, interact positively, listen actively, and appreciate guests.
Excellent guest service skills and strong telephone etiquette.
Self-starter who can follow up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have, or be able to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to the position.

Responsibilities

Promote and provide excellent guest service experiences to internal and external guests.
Complete assigned duties and tasks.
Ensure used items are sanitized to the highest standards and are clean and free of contamination risks.
Use and implement M.S.D.S. criteria, food and product safety requirements, and Food & Beverage Policies & Procedures.
Remove trash and maintain loading and receiving areas in a safe and clean condition.
Clean and sanitize food service areas and equipment.
Maintain dependable attendance, with extremely infrequent absences or lateness.
Assist with banquet setup, including arranging tables and chairs and preparing for catering and food service.
Perform other assigned special projects and duties.
