About The Position
The Steward / Dishwasher supports the Fork Lore kitchen at Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and an organized, safe work area. The role requires a pleasant, upbeat, team-oriented attitude and the ability to provide support wherever needed. Employees must be available for both AM and PM shifts and work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of the Food & Beverage and Culinary industry.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies, including at least 35 pounds.
- Ability to keep the work area organized and safe.
- Flexibility and willingness to work wherever needed.
- Availability for AM and PM shifts and flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk, stoop, and bend frequently.
- Ability to use cleaning solvents and detergents regularly, frequently immerse hands in water, and work in a hot, damp environment.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in the food service industry or a hotel kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism and teamwork in accordance with service standards.
- Wash plates, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure dishes are sanitized and available as needed.
- Keep sanitation solution compliant with code and company standards.
- Place clean dishes, glassware, silverware, and cookware on designated shelves according to procedures.
- Set up the dish machine in the morning and/or shut it down in the evening according to company procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the dish machine.
- Keep dish areas clean and sanitized by sweeping and mopping floors, wiping countertops, and emptying trash.
- Complete duties and procedures established by the Kitchen Management Team.
- Support the Kitchen Team with a pleasant, upbeat, and can-do attitude.
